It has been couple of months back in August when Google announced that in restructuring process, they will open a parent company called Alphabet. The reason behind the move was that, it will allow the different parts of their businesses to run independently.
Now it is official, that Google is a subsidiary of ALPHABET.
As a result of this, each stock of google will be now automatically converted to Alphabet stock.

Google Inc. announced today that, pursuant to its previously announced plans to create a new public holding company, Alphabet Inc. (“Alphabet”), by implementing a holding company reorganization (the “Alphabet Merger”), it expects that the Alphabet Merger will close after the close of business on October 2, 2015. Google anticipates that shares of Google Class C Capital Stock and shares of Google Class A Common Stock will begin trading as Alphabet Class C Capital Stock and Alphabet Class A Common Stock, respectively, on the NASDAQ Global Select Market on October 5, 2015. Shares of Alphabet Class C Capital Stock and shares of Alphabet Class A Common Stock will continue to be traded under the same ticker symbols under GOOG and GOOGL, respectively.
Update: The Alphabet merger is now effective. For more information on the merger, please see Alphabet’s Form 8-K filed on October 2, 2015.
Google’s business which includes Search, YouTube, Maps etc. will all be now a subsidiary of Alphabet.Moreover, each of these will have their own different CEO.

Moving a wordpress website is one of the common jobs in the freelance websites since many years.There are many blogs and tutorials explaining the process in detail either by video or by image presentation.
In this post, I will explain the basic steps to bear in mind while moving a wordpress website which are necessary to avoid any future problems.
- Always take a full backup of the website and database to be moved so that in case you run into any problems there is always a way back saving your precious hard work.
- Upload the files in the server.
- Update the htaccess file.
- If your current website is in the root of the main domain like for example it is as www.www.developingsense.com and it is to be moved to another domain for example www.thedeveloping.in, then there is no such need of updating the .htaccess file.

But if your current website is in the root directory of the domain and it has to be moved in any other folder of another domain like www.thedeveloping.in/wordpress, then the .htaccess has to be updated.

- Now upload the exported database file to the new hosting using phpmyadmin.Do not forget to change the wp-options table rows. There you have to update the new website url in two places saying site_url and home_url.
- Now update the wp-config.php file in the root of the directory where wordpress is installed.Here you to write the new database name, hostname, username and password. This is where the database connection error occurs if it is not updated correctly.ik

Templates in wordpress are of immense use particularly if we want to have a different design for a particular page.Normally,when we create a template a dropdown is shown on the right hand side as a dropdown from where we select the template and then save the page.
But sometimes this option is missing. There can be two reasons behind this.
- You have uploaded the template file in the wrong place using FTP .It should always be uploaded in the theme which is active.
- The template file is not created properly as you missed the required template tags.
Always start the template file using above tags and can name it accordingly to the purpose which will be served by the template.
